Inner Earth Energy and the Midwest's top geothermal professionals came together in 2008 to create the Geothermal Energy Consulting Group (GECG). The GECG was formed to address the increasing demand for turn-key geothermal design/build services. The market for geothermal systems is experiencing fantastic growth and experienced, high caliber design and installation professionals are in short supply. The GECG was formed to offer its clients a multidisciplinary, single source approach to the creation of geothermal systems.
The GECG team includes licensed and professional engineers, certified geothermal designers and installers (certification by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association), geologists, hydrologists, architects and the industry's top drilling and installation technologists. Collectively, this group represents decades of experience in geothermal consulting, engineering, design, and construction.

In addition to commercial industrial and institutional work, the GECG consults with developers and builders to help their clients achieve high quality, professional geothermal installations the right way, the first time.
INNER EARTH ENERGY and the GECG services include:
- Consulting mechanical, civil, electrical, and environmental design and oversight engineers, mechanical engineering design, loop field design and lay out;
- Energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis, performance analysis, and HVAC design;
- Drilling, loop field installation, thermally enhanced grout and lateral loop separators for thermal conductive enhancement, and thermal conductivity testing; and
- Marketing, financing, construction oversight, and project management.
Mission and Objectives
We are International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) Certified Designers, Installers and Trainers. We have completed hundreds of commercial and residential geothermal projects in both new and retrofit construction. Our mission is to:
- Utilize a team approach to promote geothermal heat pump technology to the design community and the HVAC industry for the benefit of our commercial and residential customers;
- Plan, develop commission and manage geothermal projects with a quality systems approach;
- Utilize IGSHPA standards for the design, installation, and commissioning of geothermal heat pump systems through ongoing professional development and training;
- Provide our clients with up-to-date information on renewable energy and emissions credits as set forth in the Federal and State tax codes; and to
- Model economic growth through environmental sustainability.
